How To Manage Your Budget
If you have a hard time managing your budget (which refers to how much you
pay out and how much you receive in), read the passage provided by Visual
Credit Counseling.
The only way to identify a pattern in your spending habits is to document
everything that you've spent and what you've earned. This will give you
a clear picture of "where all your money is going." In addition, this will
help you better plan for expenses and to put aside enough income to pay
for necessities, such as rent, utilities, food, etc. The rest, considered
disposable income, is what you are able to spend once you've taken care
of all of your payments. Make sure you do not spend what is not disposable!
This is how many people get into debt. They either spend the money that
should have been set aside for payments, and end up either making a payment
late or not making one at all. Or, people use their credit cards, and realize
they cannot make the payments on it when the bill comes. Do not get stuck
into this credit counseling nightmare!
